sunshine and summer heat stroke.

okay, it is SO hot here. and today, while contemplating the ridiculous heat, i just realized that us humans never seem to be happy with what we have. while the bitter winds of January reduced us to shivering masses of flesh, we'd be moaning about how nice summer would be. but now when its sweltering hot, we'd be wishing that winter would come early. we tend to wonder about other people's life and compare all of their fortunes with ours. why don't we just take all the things that we have right now (i guess most of us have more than enough resources to survive. unless you're dirt poor and you don't even have internet, in which case it would be virtually impossible for you to read this) and be thankful for it instead of bitching and moaning about how much more richer Rokiah is or how prettier Ali is compared to our own person?

take a deep breath, look around. not everyone is given the opportunities that have been given to us. some are born into broken families, broken homes, with the open skies as their roofs, but you see them smiling in those National Geographic pictures right? okay, so its a given fact that they're probably not smiling all the time, but put yourself in their shoes. would you smile, for even a moment? they have to be very good actors to muster up a smile that looks so damned sincere and honest. so, the next time you feel as if you're the unluckiest person in the world, think of them. take a deep breath, istighfar and think of all the things that He has given us.

not everything you ask for will be granted right then and there. if He has not granted them, it means that it is kept for another time or that it will be replaced with something of the same value but in another form. insya'Allah.
