New York Part 1

there were only a few days left to get ready for our vacation in New York and the four of us were freaking out! Reny couldn't stop listening to Jay-Z's new jam (Empire State of Mind, correct me if i got it wrong), Deyla was holed up in our room doing God knows what, Irfan was doing whatever he does best and i was scrambling to get enough money for the trip.

the trip itself was an impulsive and reckless decision and i'd advice against it. the next time we are going to plan for a trip, it will be a few months in advance,not 3 weeks before the actual date. it was especially bad for me because i was on a completely different flight from my partners in crime and the flight even had a transit in North Carolina. to make matters worse, the only time i've been on a flight was when we had to make the trip to US. note to self, book your flight tickets together and in a bunch-it helps considerably.

we packed our bags the night before the trip and had a mini pow-wow at Gillette Hall (the girls' residence hall). we decided to bring our own luggage (which forced us to get two cars to the airport) and to hold off on clothes because we'll probably have a lot of souvenirs to bring back to Nashville. the next morning at about 7.30, S**h F**r* and H**i came down to give us a ride to Nashville International Aiport (BNA). i was in the second car with Reny and S**h F**r* while Deyla, Irfan and S*a* 2 were in the first car with H**i. it was mostly an uneventful ride and we got to BNA safely.

after checking in and saying goodbye to each other (because of our messed up flight plans), we were off to NEW YORK!!!

3.00 PM (New York time) : ARRIVED SAFELY.

i was the last person to arrive in Newark Airport, NJ and it was snowing! the driver that was told to pick us up was waiting at the baggage claim holding up a sign with my name on it (suddenly feel like anak orang kaya) and i made a beeline for him. while waiting for my luggage and the other three to come over, i had a conversation with Mr Alberto, the driver. he was a nice guy and wasnt lokek to give out info on the best places to go in New Jersey and New York. :) kudos to Kak Kokes and Nils for arranging everything for us starting from our arrival til New Year.

First time tengok snow at the airport, jakun dah.

the whole day was spent playing with snow and worrying about a flat tire in the middle of nowhere. me thinks the adventure of the 3 bimbos, the drama queen and a messed up flat tire deserves a post all to itself.
