begin with the end in mind

TBH, i really like orang yang bila bertazkirah, dia boleh show me the relation between what is taught in the Quran and how to apply it in the modern world. Quran is timeless and i am sure org akan ckp, 'ape ke bendul minah ni. semua orang pun boleh relate kan la. pffft'. NO. tak semua orang ada ability to relate the Quran and the modern world and convey what they feel to the people around them in an effective manner. nak ckp relate tu boleh la ak relate. and i like to do things based on the reasoning sebab tu la suka gila org yang boleh relate ni.

Haritu usrah akak usrah ad cerita pasal 7 habis of highly effective people. buku tu mcm super popular and penulisnya bukan Islam pun. tapi the second habit is really inspiring. it tells us to begin everything with the end in mind. and this can be tied to fiqrah. entah betul ke tak aku eja ni. dari apa yang ak paham, (takyah amek bulat2 okeh sbb tak sure. nak tahu lebih, tanye ustad2 ustazah ke) fiqrah ni dia mcm ideals or kemahuan kita yang kita boleh control. um, for instance, imagine fiqrah as a bowl or bekas. we shape the bekas to be what we want it to look like according to our ideals and imagine filling up the bekas with effort, ilm, and byk lagi element.

we ultimately decide what goes into the bekas and how we use the stuff in the bekas. haha. okay, i'm confusing myself. haha. mesti korg lepas baca ni pun pening. padan muka. hahaha. so, the relation is....*jengjengjeng* fiqrah tu boleh kite relate kan dgn saying 'begin with the end in mind' ni sbb when we have an idea of what we want, we will work towards fulfilling the goal.

okay, the hard part is not creating the ideals, the hard part is working towards fulfilling said ideals. um, let's say that we decide today yang kite kene siapkan lab report Organic Chemistry yang ala2 sampah tu, and we tell ourselves that it should be done by bila semua and set it in mind. in between pagi kita make that vow and malam tu, kita work diligently on fulfilling said vow tak? mesti tengah2 tu mcm byk distraction and sometimes we get derailed. so nampak tak kenapa execution tu yang susah? ni satu hari punye kes. kalau lifetime punye kes? haaa

tu la yang akk usrah cakap ritu. instead of the end of the day, try looking at the end of our lives. imagine what we would like to be remembered for. and instead of the length of a full day, we need to use the duration of our whole lives working towards those goals. NOT easy. but who says that not easy is the synonym of impossible? no one. so it's do-able. finishing the lab report would take me a couple of hours, not a moment. so there's nothing wrong in doing things at our own pace. at the end of the day, remember to evaluate how far we've come in our quest to fulfill our goal. what have we done to work towards it and the things that we may have done to hinder it. discard the things that hold us down and continue doing those that would help us get to our goal.

admitting that we've been doing something in the wrong way or admitting that we're wrong itself is really hard to do. but taking steps to change is really commendable. starting the change itself is super hard, but preventing yourself from relapsing is extremely hard. we sometimes forget that change is a never-ending process. that it doesn't end in one good deed. to keep ourselves from falling back into out habits are really hard too. it's not whether we can change or not. it is whether we want to see the changes and accept the effects of the changes on us and the people around us.

PS: Sumpah tak sure tajuk buku tu ape tapi dah dekat2 dah tu. malas nak google sbb tengah buat lab report. :D
